Product Description

The new sensor technology in the Canon C100 MK II requires a whole new design. I have designed four picture styles for you to use.
SIC 1 has good color, nice contrast and the ability to not need color correction.
SIC2 is Canon Log but without the sharpness, more dynamic range for color grading.
SIC3 is a picture profile designed to use when you are trying to match your C100 with your C100 MKII or a C300. Without this they will not match at all. This gets them incredibly close.
SIC4 is Canon Log without the sharpness and set to match the Canon Log out of the C100 and C300, more dynamic range for color grading.

All four picture styles are included.

If you are having trouble loading the picture profiles, format the SD card in the camera first. Make a fake picture profile. Throw it in the trash. Then add these picture profiles.

Hey Shane, thanks for the color profiles! I did however have some issues with my light meter after using them on the shoot. Everything that was properly exposed ended up being really dark. The colors itself looked great but I was no longer able to trust my light meter. After using them again on a second shoot I decided to just go with a Wide-DR.

Brian – With the Canon cameras, I have never been able to use a light meter because it is a counter intuitive sensor that follows not rhyme or reason from film emulsions. I have to light off of a monitor all the time.

    Hi Shane,
I’m doing a shoot on Monday in Madrid using both the Canon C100 and Canon C300MKII. Can I use this picture profile on the C100 to colour match the C300 MKII?
    Many thanks
    Andrew

The sensors are completely different. You can try. I would advise shooting with my flatter SIC 2 profile with the sharpening turned off and then getting in there and matching them in color correction.

Hi Shane,I’m using c300MKII and C100 MII (for movi reasons) on an upcoming shoot. What’s my best bet? I still would like to use C log to on the 300.

    • :

I would use the SIC 2 on both cameras and that gives you the Log image without all the in camera sharpening which will bite you in the butt.

Shane, Do I load this into the C100 so that it will match up on what picture profile on the C100 Mark II? I am trying to get the C100 to match up as close to the C100MII Wide DR Picture Profile.

    • :

Hi Tim. These profiles were not built to match a C100 with a C100 MKII. They were designed to give you the best looking image that requires minimal to no grading.

Hey Shane, thanks for the color profiles! I have the C 100 MK 1 and the C 100 MK2 I love them, we are making wedding movies.
In the description of the profiles witch are matching the MK2 you tell us that :
“SIC3 is a picture profile designed to use when you are trying to match your C100 with your C100 MKII”
The question is ; what color profile to use on the MK 1 for a beter match with the MK 2 ? One from the factory or one from your design ?

I would suggest using the ones I have created because the issue with the C100 and C100 Mark II is how the camera pulls information from the sensor. The cameras interact differently from each other. The C100 pulls information like the C300 and the C100 Mark II pulls information like the C500. This is why I created that specific profile, the SIC3, to match the two cameras together. It just makes it a little easier versus shooting Canon Log and dialing everything in post production.

Hi Shane , I would like to match c100 with mk2 . What I see in skin tones mk2 gives more blue tint when c100 nice orange . I wish to get nice orange skin tone from mk2 . At now I am using wide DR mostly . Is any of your profil can give close match look mk1 with mk2 , and what is important keep DR good like original profil wide DR from canon ? Any advice in setting both camera ? Thanks

    :

Hi Shane, I’m very interested by your profil. With delfaut profil C100 MKII generate noise ( Wide DR at 850) I expose on the right for compensate or use C-log but it’s difficult to have a good exposure.

Yours profiles could be facilitate The workflow ? The profil Sic 1 is it perfect for no grading on post prod ? (Color, contrast and low noise ?)

Profil for interior and exterior shoot are They available for C100 MK II ? C100 MKII in interior has got a problem of couleur temperature. Yellow dominante !

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

    Tom

    Shane,

I’m confused on your sic3 profile. Do I upload it into both my mark 1 and mark 2 cameras to get the match? If it just the mark 2 then what profile should I be using in the mark 1?

    Thanks!!
