In the winter of 2012, I had the pleasure of meeting Patrick Moreau for the first time. I knew nothing of his work. I had been asked by Canon to present with him at Sundance Film Festival. Patrick discussed the independent filmmaker and I talked about Hollywood filmmaking. When we met over dinner before putting our presentations together, I immediately bonded with this artist. He had passion, out of the box thinking and a very unique eye for composition and story. Once I saw a run through of his keynote, I was transported to all the different worlds that he and his amazing team of co-collaborators had created.
Now we find ourselves in the winter of 2014 and Patrick and his team have come up with an incredible tour that is centered around what Stillmotion does best, telling engaging stories that move you, make you laugh, cry, and motivate you to take action. The latter is what his new tour, Storytelling With Heart, is based on, taking action. Whether you have very little experience or consider yourself intermediate or advanced, the educational tour that Patrick is running is a HOME RUN!
• Understanding how to educate
• Great storytelling
• Creative etiquette that works
• Love of their craft that inspires
• Just great people that inspire you to learn
These bullet points are what sets them apart from all the others. I flashback to the winter of 2012 and remember that I learned so much from Patrick on that day on his composition, his different way of thinking. I feel this is the biggest endorsement that I can give to this tour. I have over 20 years of experience, 18 feature films under my belt and Patrick opened my eyes in new ways.
Three parts storytelling workshop. One part in-the-field shoot. Only 40 seats per city for a personal, interactive experience. Each workshop includes the opportunity to join Stillmotion and the Story & Heart team for an in-the-field shoot the day following the workshop. Try the gear (Movi, C100, 1DC, lenses, and more), ask questions, and get a chance to shoot with filmmakers in your area.
Storytelling With Heart is all about becoming a remarkable storyteller. That happens inside each of us, not with a camera, lens, or Steadicam. These five ideas will change the way you tell stories right away.
– REMARKABLE STORYTELLING
– CREATE YOUR OWN REALITY
– BRING YOUR REALITY TO SET
– ATTRACT INSPIRING STORIES
– NINJA FILMMAKING
