Ivar Edding, I am glad you liked our little piece. It was fun to shoot in 2.5 hours. The Leitax is not an adapter it mounts to the lens as a permanent piece. No play, perfect fit.

Hey Shane! I absolutely loved when you forced your way into the bamboo, ha ha! Great stuff!

Would you say the Leitax outperform the Novoflex, and in what way?

Keep at it man, all the best!

Gianluca, I get my cases through Audio Dept. in Burbank http://audiodept.com/. He request the foam and I cut it out. It is not laser cut and hard. That was a recipe for disaster. It shocked the monitor. The soft foam works the best.

Pauli Janik, I would go with the Zeiss CP 2's. This will give your focus pullers a chance in hell. Prepare for much more contrast in your image and cooler tones. The only other way would be to go with PL mounted 7D's and use Cooke S4's. The difference that I find with 5D versus 7D is contrast, so with the Zeiss CP 2's on a 7D you will have limited latitude. With a 5D you gain about a stop to a stop in a half, which is a big deal. I feel that you should go with the 7D's and not deal with the monitor syncing thing. Unless everyone is on board with seeing a standard def image and the delay. I find that if they are use to having it quickly and without pause you should go 7D and dodge the bullet. I hope this helps

Happy New Year,

I'm following your blog for a while now. Great!
I'm shooting commercials, promo stuff and musicvideos with canons for almost a year now.
I have a huge dilema here. I'm over in Europe ( slovakia ) and I on my way to convince National TV station to shoot weekly series on Canons :).
I have reasonable budged for the stuff, but can't choose lenses. I just finished 2 days camera test in studio with Canon L's (24,35,100,45TS) and LaicaR summicron (35,50) on 5D & 550D. TV doesn't want to invest in used stuff so Leica seems to be out. Pullers can't work with canons. So I'm guessing Zeiss is my only option? with that I'm thinking CP.2. What would you suggest to do? Is Leica that much better, should I give them no option?

second question if I could: because of re-syncing monitor when pressing record, I'm thinking to go with 7Ds ( 3 of them ) and one 5D for wide shots without monitor ( sniper style ). Will that be step down in quality? Should I deal with the re-syncing and get all 5Ds instead? It's for HD TV production.

The show is something like Hotel Babylon from UK.

Most appreciated
